Tellers are responsible for the processing of transactions accurately and efficiently in a fast paced environment. Your duties will include, but are not limited to the following:


  • Under the direction of the management team, tellers perform a variety of customer account transactions which include processing a variety of routine financial transactions including check cashing, withdrawals, deposits, and loan payments.
  • Responsible for managing and balancing cash drawer.
  • Prepares daily paperwork according to branch procedures.

  • Listens for and identifies cross-sale opportunities. Refers cross-sales opportunities to the appropriate staff members as appropriate.
  • Addresses customers questions and concerns and offers solutions.
  • Maintains a teller cash drawer and balances within the institutionís guidelines.
  • Able to lift 25 pound bags of coin.
  • Able to stand for extended periods of time (up to four hours at a time).
  • Performs additional duties as directed by the management team.
  • Ability to coordinate a variety of assignments simultaneously and able to prioritize work.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and individually to consistently meet and exceed set goals determined by the management team.
  • Proficient in counting cash, arithmetic, ten-key and basic computer skills.
  • Demonstrates a high level of customer service, sales, interpersonal communication skills, problem solving, motivation to accomplish set goals, organization and self-management skills.


  • A minimum of 6 to 12 months prior teller experience within a financial institution, retail sales, or a customer service position involving cash handling experience is required. Applicants with previous banking/financial services/teller experience will be given priority.
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills.
  • High school diploma or a GED is required.


  • Previous cross-sales and/or referral experience are a plus.
  • Ability to identify customer financial needs, goals and objectives.
  • Previous banking/financial services/teller experience.
  • Bilingual (fluent verbal and written skills) are a plus.
